The "2nd and 7" program was started by Ohio State University football players years ago who wanted to work to encourage literacy and learning. At Washington School District, Assistant Football Coach Lance Vallee coordinates the program with Athletic Director and Head Coach Mike Bosnic. Senior athletes from football read to the second graders in the fall, and basketball, cheerleading, and baseball in the spring.
